Top New Cars This Month

Another month and there are yet more cars available on the market for our consideration and possible purchase. They range from the increasingly popular electric vehicles offered by most manufacturers to Sports Utility Vehicles. Whether you need a practical or posh vehicle, the choice of cars just keeps on getting bigger.

Electric Peugeot's?

Right now you can order an all-new Peugeot 208 and e-208 but you will have to wait for delivery until early 2020. As the name suggests, the e-208 is the first new generation all-electric car from Peugeot, capable of up to 211 miles from a single charge. These models are available in Active, Allure and GT Line specification.

Prices start from £16,250 and £25,050 for the e-208 in Active trim. This price for the e-208 includes the Government Plug-in Car Grant, which is currently worth £3,500 at the moment. Company car and fleet users will be pleased as Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) rates stand at nil for the all-new e-208 across all trim levels from April 2020, while the all-new 208 sees BIK rates start from just 22%.

High Class Volvo's

If the Peugeot isn’t quite posh enough for you, the Volvo S60 just gets better. For instance the Inscription Plus specification is the epitome of Swedish luxury. They have Nappa leather upholstery for the heated and cooled seats, and Driftwood interior inlays. Standard equipment includes touchscreen and voice-activated control system, adaptive LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors, hands-free boot opening, sat-nav and Volvo’s City Safety autonomous emergency braking system. The S60 is priced from £37,935 (T5 R-Design Plus), while company car tax costs are from £212 a month. It is certainly a very stylish looking car, but could it go off road?

Jeep has launched new models of the Renegade and Compass, named the Night Eagle. With the addition of 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels and grille surround, tinted privacy glass, gloss black exterior badging as well as a Night Eagle emblem, there is no mistaking this model from outside. Inside, it continues the dark theme with black upholstery and gloss black accents on the steering wheel, speakers and gear leaver surround. The tech includes an 8.4-inch Uconnect Nav with Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility, dual zone climate control and Adaptive Cruise Control as standard.

The Renegade Night Eagle starts from £23,445 for a 1.0-litre 120hp petrol and the Compass Night Eagle is available from £27,230 for a 1.4-litre 140hp petrol engine. You had better like black though.

You will have to wait for the Peugeot, but you can get Volvo and Jeep on your drive right now, what are you waiting for?
